Having discovered silkscreen printing in 2007, this 37-year-old self-taught amateur rock guitarist decided to dip his hands in the ink and express himself through concert posters. He also collaborates with Tame Impala, Ty Segall, Temples, The Dandy Warhols, Cloud Nothings, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Girls in Hawaii, Wall of Death, Swans, and quite a few others.

Cyrille Rousseau‘s work, a cross between collage and illustration, is influenced noticeably by Max Ernst, Folon, Margritte, and French poster artists from the ’60s. His dreamlike and curious world brings to mind enchanted travels and musical encounters, and features magical creatures and chimeras in surrealist landscapes. Welcome!

What’s the story behind your poster?
Getting around on a bike is seeing the city in a different way, traveling in a different way, feeling light, light, light…

CyrilleRPoster

Il collabore ainsi avec Tame Impala, Ty Segall, Temples, The Dandy Warhols, Cloud Nothings, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Girls in Hawaii, Wall of Death, Swans et bien d’autres.

This poster is one in a series of 10 created by French and American artists as part of “I Vélib’, I Can Fly” — our second creative collaboration with Vélib’, the bikeshare service for the city Paris.

The exhibition will take place from April 2 to May 15 at Paris Rendez-Vous, the concept store of the City Hall of Paris. We’ll share previews of the posters created by French and American artists for this exhibit that celebrates exploring Paris by bike.
